Schumacher Brighton Wallpaper In China Cabinets

Schumacher Brighton wallpaper is my go-to wallpaper for the backs of china cabinets. It is what I default to for many of my faux bamboo china cabinets.

This should be no surprise since bird themed design elements are almost a part of the The Resplendent Home brand. I am sure you have seen my chinoiserie powder room makeover post.

Back to this paper.

This Brighton paper was designed by famous American interior designer Miles Redd. I love his Instagram account and absolutely adore his style.

The wallpaper comes in several different color ways. The colors are vibrant and rich.

Schumacher Brighton in Multi

Since “Multi” coordinates beautifully with my custom Teal, its is my absolute favorite.

The main bird is the brightest in the multi color way. Also, the dramatic contrast of the flowers and berries is the prettiest in the multi.

Brighton in Emerald

Emerald is my next favorite color in this Schumacher Brighton wallpaper collection.

This shade of green is timeless. Many chinoiserie bird wallpapers have this emerald green background. It’s not going out of style anytime soon.

I have combined here with Ben Moore White Dove – another one of my favs.

How love the high contrast of white and emerald green on this one. Reminder to self – use this more often!

Brighton in Peacock

I have used the peacock color way a few times.

The white, taupe gray and peacock is a beautiful combination as you can see.

It’s a stunning color way and every time I see the paper in a designer room, it takes my breath away, but I haven’t been able to do it justice.

I tried to combine it with my Teal but I don’t think it’s “THE” color. I need to find the perfect color to go with it. Also, I may need to find a china cabinet that’s more like a curio cabinet.

In Alabaster

I had the Alabaster color way in fabric so I used it with blush color china cabinet.

It was quite possibly the prettiest combination but it was really hard to photograph.

I tried hard to take good pictures of this piece and just couldn’t do it, so I deleted most of them.

These pictures are screenshots of a video I had so they are even worse!! Oh well.

Why I love Schumacher Brighton?

I love using this paper as an accent in my china cabinets, especially faux bamboo style.

Of course the main reason being it’s vibrant, beautiful colors, but another reason is you get a good value for the price.

What? Yes, the paper is pricey at over $800 retail, but there is nothing else out there that’s comparable. Trust me, I have looked.

I say it’s a great value as an accent because the paper 12 foot tall and 52″ wide.

The beauty of having an extra wide and extra tall:

You Can Have A Seamless Application

Most china cabinets are in the 50″ long and most regular wallpapers are 36″ wide.

Having a 52″ long china cabinet means you don’t have to match seams. Wallpaper seam matching is no fun, especially if you are not experienced.

This paper is easy to apply because it’s one piece and done.

One Roll can Cover 2 or 3 china cabinet Backs

The paper is 12 foot long!! That’s really long. Most wallpaper rolls are 72″ long whereas this one is 144″ long.

As you can see in the picture above, the design goes all the way to the top.

That means you can use this entire length of paper and get a a “yield” of 3 china cabinets out of one roll

How I use The Brighton Paper

I love using the busiest, lower portion of the design on larger china cabinets like the one below.

It’s perfect for this china cabinet with large glass panes so you can see the whole design.

Faux bamboo china cabinet in teal

The top portion of the paper is perfect for a smaller china cabinet like the one below

The top portion of the design is sparse but it still has plenty of vibrant colors in there to make a statement.

It also has smaller birds to add interest.

Every inch of it gets used and nothing goes to waste. How good is that?

I love Schumacher Brighton wallpaper enough that I have added it in my own house.

As an owner of vintage furniture refinishing business, I have access to many gorgeous things, but very few curated pieces make it in my own home.

This china cabinet with Schumacher Brighton in multi color way is most definitely one of my favorite pieces in my house.
