I wanted to share a quick tour—and the story behind how this space came together. Guest bedrooms often get the leftover furniture, but I wanted to create this India inspired guest bedroom where I paid homage to my roots.
And where guests actually feel considered and comfortable. A place to sit, relax, freshen up, or even get a bit of work done.
The Wallpaper That Inspired Everything

The soul of this room is the Quadrille Kalamkari border wallpaper from @quadrillefabrics. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it in a tiny powder room, and once it went up here, everything else just fell into place. It instantly brought back memories of traveling through India as a child with my dad, so the room naturally became a personal homage to those moments.
The Curtains That Look Custom

The curtains are from @neutralcurtains, but I dressed them up with a beautiful trim from @samuelandsons. That simple addition made them look completely bespoke, and now they feel perfectly tailored for this room.

A Custom Headboard That Completely Changed the Bed
We swapped out the original back pieces of an Amazon trundle bed and replaced them with a fully custom, dome-shaped headboard made by Eric and the difference is night and day. The headboard was made using Kravet Chicattah Rose fabric adding softness and a high-end feel that the original bed simply didn’t have.

While @upholsteryartisticmimicry handled most of the project, Eric upholstered the new headboard himself. Two standard pieces removed, replaced with a thoughtfully designed, custom-made headboard that feels intentional and one-of-a-kind. It’s a great example of how a simple base piece can be elevated with the right customization.

The Desk Corner

This little desk (from The Resplendent Crow) had been sitting in my shop for years, waiting for its moment. It finally found its home in this space, paired with the most stunning brass chair from @adayintheleifhouse, upholstered in fabric from @winstonfabrics. Even the marble trash can got an upgrade because yes, the trash can can be chic.

Layers of Vintage + Thoughtful Details
This space is filled with items that have their own little backstories:
- The sconce and coffee table are from @chelseahouseinc.

- The lamps are from @beaudandygoods, with shades from @greenrow.

- The full-length mirror—an absolute guest-room essential—was made by my husband, inspired by palace domes in India.

- The bed is from amazon, and the fabric on it is from @kravet1918.

- The pillows are a mix of amazon and Etsy finds.

- The rug and door trim are both Etsy discoveries and the door hardware is from @emtek_products,

- The reading lamp is from @amazonhome.

The Heart of the Room
The shape from the full-length mirror my husband built shows up again on the door backplates and the headboard, giving everything a quiet rhythm. It’s one of those details you don’t immediately notice, but you feel.

A Space Ready for Guests
Now the room is clean, calm, and ready for the next round of guests… at least for the next three hours before real life happens.
